Some reasons may be as follows:I have been using Logic since it was released, so all of my song files are in Logic or Notator formats. I have never found Cubase or other sequencers to be as powerful and useable for my needs as a midi musician. I have about 30 midi devices, and the Logic environment screen allows these and the Emagic Unitor 8 and AMT-8 midi interfaces to be managed easily with these devices, while other software increasingly focuses on plugins rather than hardware midi instruments.

Older versions of Logic support SoundDiver 3 for instrument editing and library functions. I haven't used any version of Logic for Os9 or OSX that performs as well as Logic on PC. I have Logic 1, 2 (Atari), 5 (PC), and 5-9 (Mac). My G4 (Os9) and G5 (OSX) cheese grater Mac Pros or Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Mini systems are incredibly sluggish and unresponsive compared to an XP compatible PC that can run an Intel 3770k or better with a modern video card. Using Mac versions on such systems is disruptive to workflow due to slow scrubbing, scrolling, and screen updates. Many faster Mac models like imacs cannot use pci, pcix or pcie cards due to absence of slots.

I use Emagic Audiowerk 8 and MOTU pcie 424 cards with 3 MOTU 2408 digital mixers, which are cost prohibitive to replace. A current Mac Pro is definitely cost prohibitive at the starting price of $6000.

The last trash can Mac Pro would not accommodate a PCIe or PCIx card afaik.I can hobble along on a cheese grater Mac Pro, but I think the PC version performs better. Basically, I feel that Logic was negatively impacted when acquired by Apple, and Emagic Logic may be the better alternative for midi focused musicians.

Wish I could get it running under Windows 10 on my fastest PCs.I got Logic 5.51 running under Windows 10 Hyper-V but there is no sound or other device support other than the XSKEY, even through remote connection, so that's not useable at all.Fortunately I have an LGA1155 motherboard that has XP drivers so I can build a new Intel i7 system to run 5.51.Of course I will have to give up most of the improved bundled software instruments of current versions, but I personally prefer the sound of hardware analogs etc.Cheers.
